Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has brought the Village and Ward Secretariat system and claims it to be his revolutionary twist to the administration.
The employees are often considered Jagan’s stooges by the Opposition.
But surprisingly, even Jagan has been ignoring them. Ever since their appointment, they continue to be on probation which means their jobs are not permanent and they are not on the government payroll.
Their probation was supposed to end in October last year but Jagan went on postponing them for one reason or the other. Recently the CM promised to make it permanent from June 1st.
But the buzz is that it is not happening once again.
They are being insulted in the name of three times attendance per day and deploying to collect money at Public toilets etc.
The government is reportedly planning to conduct exams for them and take only those who clear them. Employees are fuming at this intentional neglect and insults. They are threatening to hit the roads against the injustice meted out to them.
“Jagan claims us as his own people but in the end, all that we receive is insults from the government. We are being taken for granted,” they lament.
