Shaakuntalam: Princess Samantha wins birthday battle

South diva Samantha Ruth Prabhu is celebrating her 35th birthday today. On this occasion, the makers of her upcoming film Shaakuntalam unveiled a surreal poster of  Samantha in the form of a princess.  She looks beautiful in a white saree and wearing ornaments made of flowers. She is winning the hearts of her fans with her princess look.

As her Hindu mythology, Shaakuntala was the daughter of  Apsara Meneka and Rishi Vishwamitra. She lived in  the  forest with her teacher, Rishi Kanva. In the forest she meets King Dushyant, and  falls in love with him and duo  get married. After she has their baby (Bharat), Dushyant leaves her in the forest with a promise to come back for her soon. However, due to a sage’s curse, King Dushyant forgets all about Shaakuntala, until  the destiny brings them together again.

The upcoming much awaited mythological drama Shaakuntalam is  directed by Gunasekhar and produced by Neelima Guna.

Gunasekhar is best known for his epic period  action drama Rudhramadevi with Baahubali fame  Anushka Shetty.  The movie, which is currently in the post production stage, will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

The beautiful and talented actress Samantha was recently seen in Pushpa, in which she shook her leg to the widely popular song, Oa Antava.
