Acclaimed actor and director, Farhan Akhtar, has achieved a rare feat. He has now become the first mainstream Indian lead actor who will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Farhan will be a part of Marvel Studios’ upcoming series Ms. Marvel. As of now, there is no update about the role that Farhan is playing in this series.

Ms. Marvel is a superhero series that revolves around the character Kamala Khan, who is a fan of Avengers and has her own set of superpowers. Iman Vellani, a Canadian-born teen actor, is playing the lead role in this show.

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is also essaying an important character in this series, which is a part of phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Sharing the news, Farhan Akhtar’s wife Shibani Dhandekar wrote, “THIS!!! Can’t wait for this one!! First mainstream leading Indian actor to be part of the Marvel Universe! Beyond proud of you.”

Confirming the same, Farhan wrote, “Grateful that the universe gifts these opportunities to grow, learn and in this case have a ton of fun while doing it.”

Ms. Marvel will stream on Disney+ from June 8.
