Yesterday morning, actually Megastar Chiranjeevi was supposed to fly to the USA but has canceled his plans as he was invited as a Chief Guest for May Day Celebrations of Cinema Workers Association, and he obliged it.
At a time when the senior matinee idol is getting trolled for the flop show of “Acharya”, one could unanimously say a thing, whether a film scores a hit or not, Chiranjeevi is always Acharya Of Telugu Cinema.
From delivering many hit films that changed the functionality, revenue model, and ability of the Telugu Film Industry, to helping people and other cinema employees, always Chiranjeevi stands first in the line.
While people are blasting Acharya producer for keeping ticket prices high which resulted in low footfalls after the flop talk, one wonders what would have happened to big films like RRR and Radhe Shyam if Chiranjeevi hasn’t spoken to Andhra Pradesh Govt and literally begged them to pass a GO on hiking ticket prices.
At the same time, despite the fact that AP Government is trying to lure him by asking him to set up a studio in Vizag such that Tollywood will be moved there, and the Telangana government always rolling out a red carpet for him, Chiranjeevi made sure that both the governments don’t get hurt, and tackled the issue very smoothly.
Also when some allegations have come up on a few actors from a few unsuccessful actresses, Chiru helped set up a committee, and also took a class to all the young heroes. He is instrumental in avoiding the box office clash between many films including that of Bheemla Nayak and others.
Other day Telangana Minister Malla Reddy hailed Megastar as a true mass hero who contributed a lot to the industry and went on calling him a son of Telangana though the star hails from the Andhra region.
This is just a sample of appreciations Chiranjeevi takes home each day, and if we have to talk about his film achievements surely these columns are not enough.
All said and done, if these recent acts of Chiranjeevi are to be seen, no matter if Acharya movie clicked or not, he is the real Acharya of Tollywood. Young heroes, directors and all other cine family members have a lot to learn from him.
