The makers of Adivi Sesh‘s Major have dropped an official update on the film’s release date. They have announced 3rd June as the new theatrical release date of Major, meaning it has averted the clash with F3 (27th May).

In a bid to avert the clash with F3, Major has locked horns with a couple of other-language films, Vikram and Prithviraj.

Vikram is a Tamil action drama featuring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles. The film is releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. As for Prithviraj, the film features Akshay Kumar in the lead role and it is releasing in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.

Major, being a pan-India film is now clashing with two pan-India films. The Adivi Sesh starrer is based on the heroics of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack martyr, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan.

The makers of Major are confident about the content. There have been many films that are based on 26/11 terror attacks but none cover the entire life story of Sandeep Unnikrishnan. The makers say this is the USP of Major and hence they are ready to take on other pan-India biggies. We need to wait and see if their confidence will pay rich dividends from 3rd June.
