YSR Congress has managed to win the local elections in Kuppam using their financial power and the entire official machinery.

We have seen leaders repeatedly making claims of defeating Chandrababu in Kuppam in the 2024 elections. Bharath who is likely to be the candidate of YSR Congress was made an MLC.

Other key leaders of the party in Kuppam – Senthil Kumar was made RESCO Chairman and Dr. Sudhir as Municipal Chairman. There are no elections in Kuppam until 2024.

Leaders who are united until now have changed. They have been busy with their personal agendas.

MLC Bharath was made Chittoor district MLC but being new to the politics, he is struggling to take other leaders into confidence.

A local YSRCP leader in Kuppam committed suicide recently blaming his own party leaders. All the leaders and cadres were divided into groups weakening the party.

The ruling party’s advantage will not be of big help in Assembly elections. So, YSR Congress is unlikely to threaten Naidu, the locals say.

On the other side, TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu had taken Kuppam seriously and is touring the constituency very often to keep the local leaders and cadres on their toes always.

Naidu is a seven-time MLA from the Kuppam constituency. The constituency people always reinforce faith in Naidu despite not campaigning in the constituency.
