Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao, on Thursday, broke ground for Google’s largest campus outside of their HQ at Mountain View, USA.

The Hyderabad facility in the Financial District, Nanakramguda will be a 3.3 Million sft energy efficient campus built with sustainability.

The excavation work at the construction site has been completed.

The campus is at a walking distance to Amazon’s largest global campus. Spread over area of 7.3 acres, the building will be of 23 floors and 94 meters high.

Google will be investing Rs 1000 crore for this campus that is expected to create over 6000 jobs. The construction is likely to complete in an year.

An MOU has been also signed between Google and Telangana Government. Google will collaborate with the government through its various arms to extend scholarships for Google Career Certificates to Telangana’s youth, support women entrepreneurs through digital, business, and financial skills training.

This is to strengthen the government’s school modernisation efforts with digital teaching and learning tools and solutions.
